Primary Assumption: The Republican Party is made up of two main groups; 1) the minority group of "active" moderate/liberal Republicans and 2) the majority group of "inactive" conservative Republicans.
Our Strategic Plan is the foundation on which the NCRA is built and our goal is to awaken the sleeping majority of conservative Republicans and encourage them to become "active" in the political process at the primary level. Without a plan, we remain politically irrelevent. With a plan our collective voices will be heard and we will accomplish our goal of reclaiming the Republican Party, as the Party of Conservatism.
Our political system, as well as, the Republican Party is organized into geographical units, as follows; nation, state, county, precinct. The key to controlling the agenda of the Republican Party is to have an organized, unified and committed network of likeminded people acting together, beginning at the precinct convention.
In November, 2008, I had become so frustrated, so angry and so concerned that the Republican Party was abandoning it's traditional conservative values and was so eager to "reach across the aisle" and compromise with the liberal Democrats, that I attended my first precinct convention. I was amazed at how few people attended and began the process of choosing our candidates, our party platform (what we believe in) and sending delegates to the next level. I was chosen to be a delegate to the next level, which in my case, was the senatorial district convention (in other cases it would have been the county convention). From there, I was chosen to be a delegate to the state convention. At the state convention, we elected the next term of state party leaders, we approved our state party platform and we elected delegates to the national convention.
I observed during this process that a very few people are making major decisions and setting the agenda for all of the rest of us.
Therefore, if my primary assumption is correct, we must identify and reach out to our "inactive" conservative friends, neighbors and associates and encourage them to become politically active at the primary level and to join with other likeminded conservatives in the NCRA, forming a powerful voice for conservatism. If we wait and just vote on election day we are simply approving what the moderate minority within the Republican Party has chosen for us.
Each new NCRA member will be encouraged to form an NCRA Precinct Chapter, as a Precinct Captain, or join the existing NCRA Precinct Chapter in their precinct. Each Precinct Chapter will meet at least two times leading up to the next primary election, which begins the convention process. The purpose of these two meetings is to develop a plan of action to implement at the precinct convention. An organized, unified group of 10 to 20 people can control most precinct conventions. We will elect one of our members as the Precinct Chairman (a Republican Party elected position), submit resolutions to the Republican Party Platform of our respective states and elect our own members as delegates to the next level of the convention process. By implementing this plan, we will give the Republican Party a much needed transfusion of Conservatism.
